There are two different types of asphalt roof shingles that you can find throughout the Lower Mainland, BC:
Duriod Asphalt Shingles
These shingles have a base core of organic felt, which is a wood and paper based product. They are then covered with asphalt and granules. These shingles tend to absorb moisture and eventually curl.
Fiberglass Laminated Shingles
These shingles have a base core of fiberglass mat. This is then coated with asphalt and then granules. The fiberglass core has superior strength and does not absorb any moisture. Thus, there is no curling effect.
Some of our suppliers include: Elk/GAF, Iko, Certainteed, True Slate, Malarkey and Teal Jones Cedar.
We look forward to working with you to choose the right material and the best color to give your home the perfect combination of protection and beauty.
